This is a famous quote attributed to Bill Gates, but often misunderstood. Bill Gates wasn’t saying 640K would all you ever need – which is what most people who don’t know the story think he said – Gates was saying that 640K of unused memory in the 386s (that the OS itself hadn’t taken for itself) left a lot of extra space – in that particular machine, for that particular era, at that moment.
But that is the point of this blog – technology is always in flux, and good luck keeping up with it. I’m drinking from a firehouse – no make that a tsunami – with a straw here people. Add some straws by commenting.
